Help For the first time since its inception in 2007 (or 2006 if you count its first incarnation, the now-defunct igf2006.info), a subscribable calendar of IGF events will not be produced for the IGF Community Site this year. This is due to:
- Lack of support from the IGF Secretariat. Every year, the IGF Secretariat has been requested to link to this website or otherwise to notify participants of the facilities that it provides. Every year this request has been refused.
- The programme of events has never been made available in an open data format, but until this year, at least a spreadsheet of the events was available in a format that could be parsed with a bit of Perl hackery. This year, the format of that spreadsheet is unusable.
- Lack of support from the community. The site has always been reliant essentially on the work of a single volunteer, and has never received a single dollar (or Bitcoin) of funding to support its operation. Many of the resources provided here have also been little-utilised.
Therefore this year there is no iCal-compatible subscribable calendar, and none of the individual blog or wiki pages for each event that the calendar entries would previously link to. I apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
